How trading in with Opendoor works

01.
Your customer needs to sell before they buy

They’ve found the perfect new-build home, but they need to sell first.

02.
Sales associates now have a solution

Connect your customer with Opendoor, and they'll get a competitive offer on their home.

03.
They close on their home, you close a sale

Opendoor releases the contingency so you can close and get your commission.

Partner customer benefits

A competitive offer in record time

Within minutes, customers can see a preliminary offer after they answer a few questions about their home.

A stress-free home sale

A simple home assessment replaces the hassle of listing, showing, and repairing the home.

A flexible close date

Once the no-obligation offer is accepted, customers sign everything digitally and choose a close date as far out as 9 months.2

Opendoor helps my bottom line, and helps me get sales now instead of waiting on a contingency. If I don’t use Opendoor, I have a 30 to 60-day gap with my pay, and chance of losing the sale altogether.

FAQs

How does Opendoor work with REALTORS?

Opendoor respects the agreements between agents and customers. If a customer has a listing agreement in place, Opendoor will work directly with the agent to facilitate the home sale. If there is no listing agreement in place, agents can earn a 1% referral fee if they’re not receiving a listing commission and the seller hasn’t requested an offer in the last 30 days.

Is Opendoor part of my new home contract?

Opendoor is not involved in your new home contract, and does not take any of your commission. Our goal is to provide new home sales associates with a frictionless solution to eliminate contingencies, and new homebuyers with a convenient and certain path to sell their home. There is no fee for homebuilders to partner with Opendoor.

In what cities does Opendoor buy and sell homes?

What types of homes does Opendoor buy?

How does the cost of selling to Opendoor compare with a traditional sale?

When your customers sell their home to Opendoor, they pay a service charge in lieu of the agent commission they’d pay in a traditional sale, but they get the convenience of no showings and complete control over their moving timeline. Our homebuilder partners can use this comparison calculator to help customers to estimate the net proceeds of selling a home to Opendoor vs. the traditional way.
