Opendoor's VP of Engineering

Today, I’m delighted to introduce Mark Kinsella to Opendoor as our Vice President of Engineering!

Our mission at Opendoor is to empower people with the freedom to move. We deliver on this mission by enabling a frictionless and safe experience for customers to buy, sell or trade-in their homes. Making the transaction easy, though, is not simple. It requires engineering ingenuity across multiple disciplines — from machine learning for home valuations to IoT to enable self-tours for our homes. Above all, it requires an insanely talented team of engineers who are dedicated to serving our customers.

That is why I am incredibly excited to be partnering with Mark to support our engineering team.

Mark joins us from Lyft, where he most recently led Driver engineering. In his time at Lyft, he built and led numerous teams — across Support & Internal Tools, Safety & Insurance, Driver — and helped the company through IPO. In his career, Mark has taken on leadership roles at both small startups and large companies and has also worked across the spectrum of technologies from embedded systems to mobile apps.

Mark’s passion for innovating across bits-and-atoms and his people-first approach will be invaluable as we scale our platforms and teams. Please join me in welcoming Mark to the Opendoor family!
